The Making of America The Substance and Meaning of the Constitution W Cleon Skousen Books

Speaking as a novice who is just beginning his journey into gaining a better understanding of the United States Constitution - I humbly offer the following comments.
First, I found it to be very well researched. Each chapter contains numerous citations which the reader may research for further study.

Second, I found the author's organization and presentation of material within each chapter to be logical and well ordered. Where necessary he makes a good case in demonstrating how the U.S. Constitution has been misinterpreted or even circumvented by modern day congressional actions or U.S. judicial decisions.

Overall, I can say with confidence that I will enjoy reading through it again and again. I intend on keeping this book near by as a ready reference for sure.

The Making of America The Substance and Meaning of the Constitution W Cleon Skousen Books Reviews

This book published by The National Center for Constitutional should be mandatory reading in all schools. The book is based on original documents and it is what every American should be aware of.
The best book I have ever read this book will give you the most insight and bang for your buck. Completely applies to all who seek to know about the constitution and a great history lesson of why, where, and how. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
There was a method to the genius of the Founders. A great presentation by Skousen. His books should be required reading in public schools.
One word "Outstanding". This should be required reading for high school students. In my opinion, parents need to step up to the plate and ensure their children not only read this book but conduct independent research on the subject to get a better understanding of the Constitution.
This book is great for studying what the founding fathers had in mind for our country. Glad I could get it.
I thought this was a terrific book and easily deserved 5 stars. If you would like to see what the original intent of the founders was when they wrote the Constitution, then this book is for you. Also, if you would like to see how, over the last 100 years, presidents, congress, and especially the courts have bastardized the Constitution, this book is for you. The tragedy is to realize how far we have strayed from what the founders fought for in the late 1700s.
Great way to learn about the constitution and our founding fathers. It starts with a description of all of the members of the constitutional convention. It then goes through the constitution line by line with quotes from our founders about their discussion during the convention. It also mentions supreme court rulings that have changed the way certain clauses are interpreted. Should be required reading for everyone.
